Dear LUMC Congregation and Community,
Due to the presence of the COVID-19 virus in and around our community and at the recommendation of national, state and public health officials, we are suspending all activities at Langley United Methodist Church for the foreseeable future.
This suspension includes the cancellation of our worship services and meetings, as well as suspending building use by community groups. While we hope that these measures will prove in time to be an over-reaction, we would rather err on the side of caution when it comes to the health of this, our beloved community.
Public health experts and epidemiologists have determined that the best way to slow or reduce the spread of the COVID-19 virus and to give our health services the best chance of responding to this crisis is to adopt social distancing practices, which is what has necessitated this closure.
John Wesley, one of the founders of our United Methodist denomination, often said that one of the simplest and most foundational aspects of our faith is to “Do no harm.” In this, we base our actions with an eye towards the well-being of those around us. We trust that our response in this extraordinary time is in keeping with this ethic.
We will do our best to remain in communication with you, our congregation and community, and will let you know when we can return to normal activities. For the time being, sermons, reflections and other devotional materials will be available on the church website and Facebook page. As these are posted, we will send out an announcement.

what we can to support you during this stressful, challenging
experience.
We appreciate your understanding and may God bless us all with health and peace!
